Rock Climbing Introduction and Seconding Course

This type of climbing course will be suitable for beginners wanting to learn the basic skills needed to be a competent second. You can learn climbing skills such as belaying, knots and rope-work, placing protection, building belay stances, climbing calls and communication, movement on rock and descending skills.

All this can be done in a single pitch situation or in a multipitch setting whilst climbing some of North Wales classic climbing routes. At the end of this course you will have learnt all the skills needed to be a competent second as well as gaining an insight into lead rock climbing and placing protection.

Lead Rock Climbing Course

Learning to lead climb can be an exhilarating experience. This course will teach you how to remain safe and have an enjoyable time on the cliffs and crags of the U. K. Lead Climbing is suitable for all levels of climber - even beginners can enjoy this aspect of climbing by combining this course with a Climbing One course.

After a quick recap of basic climbing skills you can progress into lead climbing. This course will cover skills like placing protection en route, multipitch climbing, various ways of building belay stances on single and multipitch routes, abseiling and escaping from the climb in emergencies.

Multipitch Rock Climbing Course

North Wales has some of the best Multipitch rock climbs in the World. There are climbs at all levels of difficultly from easy climbs to extreme grades and climbs of all length from short quick climbs to routes that could take all day.

Multipitch climbing is not just for the experienced climber but a type of climbing that should be experienced by all people.

Advanced Rope-Work Course

Learning the advanced rope work skills needed to climb faster and safer can help you avoid ever getting into tricky situations. Having the knowledge that you can perform rescues and are able to get yourself and your partner out of danger, can put your and your partner's mind at ease.

If you have been climbing for a while and want to learn the next level, this course is the course for you, which includes skills such as double rope technique, hard climbing tactics, performing rescues and efficient climbing.

Introduction to Scrambling Course

North Wales rock climbing

Scrambling is the link between walking and climbing, sometimes you will be walking and other times you will have to climb a short distance. Scrambling is a great way to experience the joy, peacefulness and thrill of the mountains.

Grade 1 Scrambles are steep walking with the occasional use of hands, grade 3 scrambles are easy climbs requiring a range of rope work skills to reach the summit.

This scrambling course allows you to experience many classic scrambles under the instruction and guide of a Mountain Instructor.

Advanced Scrambling Course

If you want to learn how to tackle some of the harder scrambles on your own, this is the course for you. All aspects of Scrambling and Mountaineering will be covered including, rope-work, route finding, placing protection, belaying and judgment skills

Pick and Mix

An extremely personalised program that allows you to pick a mixture of climbing, walking and scrambling. The amount of time allocated to each activity is completely up to you, so if you would like to rock climb for a half a day and then hill walk or scramble for most of the course and rock climb a little, you can pick.

Personal guiding

Being guided up a rock face is a great way to experience rock climbing, this course will ensure maximum time spent actually climbing routes. You will receive one to one tuition allowing you to enjoy the rock climbing experience in the safe hands of a Mountaineering Instructor. Personal guiding also offers complete flexibility, if you would like to climb on a particular cliff or a specific route, this very individualised day will be able match your needs.
